Oscar’s Nominations, Korean film Minari competes for 6 awards

The list of nominees for the 93rd Academy Awards was announced today. The Korean-language film “Minari”, which tells the story of Korean immigrants chasing the American dream, competed for six Oscars, including best picture, best director (Jung Li Shuo), best actor (Steven Yeun, Stephen Won), and most Best Supporting Actress (Yin Ruzhen), Best Original Screenplay and Best Original Music Award.

Stephen Yuan’s opponents are the late actors “Black Panther” Chadwick Boseman, Anthony Hopkins, Riz Ahmed and Gary Oldman.

Yoon Yoo Jung, a veteran Korean actress who plays the “grandmother”, has lived up to expectations with “Minari” competing for the best-supporting actress award. She will compete with Olivia Colman, Glenn Close, Maria Bakalova, and Amanda Seyfried for awards.

“Nomadland” directed by Chinese female director Zhao Ting competed for five awards, including “Minari” for Best Picture and Best Director, and Best Actress (Frances McDormand) ), Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Editing Award.

For the best international film award, the Hong Kong film “You are a young man” directed by Zeng Guoxiang, starring Zhou Dongyu and Yi Yangqianxi entered the final five.

The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on April 25th.
